What is the best strategy in No-Limit Texas Hold ‘em tournament?
I usually play Poker Stars online. I’m just curious to everyones strategy.
There is many ways to play Texas Hold’em tournaments. However, you can use some plays to improve your game. I like to project a table image, if I know i will be at a table for a while. I will usually play very tight early and if I play a hand will raise if I am first in the pot. I will rarely show a hand, but sometimes I will show a really good hand if everyone folds, just to show that I am not raising with junk. As the blinds go up, there is more chips in the pot pre flop. Using the tight image I have projected, I now have more opportunities to steal the blinds with mediocre hands. I have done very well when I play this way.
You can also do the opposite. Play very loose early. Sometimes, show a garbage hand when everyone folds to your pre flop raise. Let the other players at the table think you are a maniac player. Then, when you get a big hand, your opponents are more likely to call you because you are playing very loose and you showed nothing.
