debit carb number stolen?
heres the thing. i do use my debit carb online. ebay,sears and some other websites, for the first time i had three 100.00 charges to my account. same biller. i call them its Texas Holdem, a card game. i do not play this, they are going to refund my money. but how can this happen?! i have cancelled my card and in the morning i am going to the police. they know my name and billing address. how can i find out who it is? Is it possible? I do have their ip address,which will be turned in. but can we find them. i feel violated! i am very angry. please any help
Never call where the charges are from if you didn’t make the transaction. ALWAYS call your bank immediately if you find unauthorized activity on your account. You don’t have to deal with companies who fraudulently make charges on your account.
Your card number could have been stolen from anywhere. It could have been on one of the other websites that you don’t mention – it’s possible they are not secure. Someone at a store where you used it could have copied the information. It’s even possible that someone who comes into your house stole the information. That’s an ugly thought, I know, but it happens.
Your bank will resolve it. There’s nothing more for you to do. Don’t worry about who it is. Hopefully, the law will catch up with them and handle the situation. It’s terrible to be the victim of a crime but in the end, you will be made whole again – you haven’t lost any money – so try to get over the anger and move on from it.
